About Codas Labs

Welcome to Codas Labs, a hub where innovation meets expertise in the world of SaaS. At the heart of our company's journey is our founder, Mark Thompson - a dynamic entrepreneur with 15 years of experience in creating and nurturing thriving SaaS startups.

Mark's venture into entrepreneurship began in 2011, a pivotal year marked by his departure from the conventional 9-5 job. Fired from his last traditional role, Mark embraced a truth that would define his career: he preferred the challenge of working 80 hours a week for himself to trading time for money at a 40-hour job, working for someone else. This revelation was the spark that ignited his entrepreneurial fire.

Hailing from Buffalo, NY, Mark's foundational years at LeMoyne College armed him with a business degree and an insatiable drive. Post-graduation, he moved to Raleigh-Durham, NC, a region rapidly emerging as a tech hub in the United States. However, Mark attributes the bulk of his practical wisdom to the school of hard knocks. He honed his skills by assisting local businesses with essential online growth strategies, from website development to lead generation and sales.

Mark's introduction to the SaaS domain came in 2013, following a fruitful partnership with Dylan Jones, who later co-founded ClickFunnels. This experience was instrumental in Mark's understanding of software development and team management.

The story of Codas Labs is intertwined with Mark's consistent successes. He founded PayKickstart, a leading billing and subscription management platform, which was acquired by a private equity firm in 2023. His journey also includes launching and exiting multiple SaaS products that became leaders in their niches.

Beyond his SaaS ventures, Mark is passionate about the Web3 and Crypto industries, actively participating as an investor. This diversity in interests reflects his dedication to staying ahead in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

At his core, Mark is a devoted husband to Jennifer and a loving father to Reese. When he's not innovating in the tech world, he cherishes summers at the lake and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Buffalo Bills, true to his roots.
